Your guide to July's books
September 25th 2021
This July, we’re super excited to welcome the brilliant science communicator, nutritionist and author, Dr Hazel Wallace as our Guest Curator. Passionate about reading and its mental health and self-care benefits, she’s chosen an absolute corker of a book in former Head of Drama at HBO, Miranda Cowley Heller’s debut novel, The Paper Palace. We couldn’t be more in love with it – it will make you feel like you’ve just been on a two week holiday to Cape Cod.
Alongside Dr Hazel’s pick, we’ve curated five fabulous title for you: from a tale told in the dying days of the American Civil War, The Sweetness of Water by Nathan Harris; to the fierce new title from Candice Brathwaite, Sista Sister; two phenomenal paperbacks in the form of The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hargrave and Summerwater by Sarah Moss; plus a swoony summer romance, The Distant Shores by Santa Montefiore.
